10/4 - "Who Lives in Your Backyard" with Susie Mottashed.
Join local author Susie Mottashed as she speaks on the topic of
her book "Who Lives in Your Backyard? Creating a journal that opens
your eyes and heart to nature's nearby wonders."
Keeping a nature
journal creates a space for time apart from our hectic schedules.
It also provides a sacred place for our creative spirit to come out
and play. Susie shows that it is easy to observe, sketch and record
what's going on in your own backyard. She will also demonstrate
quick sketching techniques that capture a moment. Susie will
share with the group her own personal journals. You will learn how
this activity encourages the use of writing and sketching as a
means of drawing closer to nature and to the creative and
spiritual side of ourselves. Susie Mottashed is the author of the
award-winning book, "Who Lives In Your Backyard?" In her book,
Susie teaches her readers how to create their own nature journal.
She shows how easy it is to observe, sketch and record what's
going on outside. She demonstrates that sketching can be fun,
quick and easy. Susie loves teaching her nature journaling
classes and enjoys encouraging others on their journey of creative
expression. A new companion DVD of "Who Lives In Your Backyard?"
has recently been released. Susie is a member of the Colorado
         Independent Publishers Association.

10/18 - "Simply Beautiful" with Ingrid Elfver.

the inside out. Simply Beautiful will teach you to be proud of who
you are, what you are and what you stand for. It is for every
person at every stage of life. Everyone should learn how to be
more beautiful, day after day. We can't all look alike, but all
of us are equally special and unique. By the end of the talk you
will know, too, that you are Simply Beautiful...just the way you are.
